Delete Your Account

How to request deletion

You can permanently delete your Aqerra account and the personal data associated with it at any time. There are two ways:

In the app or website (instant, self-service)

1. Sign in, then open your account page.
2. Scroll to "Delete account" and tap Delete my account.
3. Type DELETE to confirm. Your data is removed immediately and you are signed out.

By email

1. Email admin@aqerra.co.za from the address you use to sign in, with the subject "Delete my account".
2. We confirm the request comes from the account owner, then delete the account and associated personal data.

The self-service option cancels any active Aqerra Pro subscription automatically before deleting, so you are not billed again.

What data is deleted

When we process your request, we permanently delete:

• Your account profile (name, email address, profile image)
• Your plan, credit balance, and subscription record
• Your saved check history
• Any scam reports you submitted that can identify you

What data is kept, and for how long

• SA ID numbers are never stored. They are used transiently for a single bank-account verification and discarded immediately, so there is nothing to delete.
• Check results are cached for up to 1 hour to speed up repeat lookups, then automatically evicted.
• Diagnostic and security logs are retained for up to 30 days for fraud-prevention and abuse-monitoring purposes, then automatically deleted.
• Records we are legally required to keep (for example, transaction records for tax or anti-fraud obligations) are retained only as long as the law requires, in de-identified form where possible.

How long it takes

Deletion requests are honoured within 30 days, as required by the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). We email you to confirm once the deletion is complete.
